There's not much rust on my car, but what is rusted almost to destruction is the pan that's underneath the radiator.

Is this load bearing for the rad?

Does anyone know if a replacement can be purchased new, as I guess sourcing 1 used that isn't just as bad would be a mare.

It's not exactly load bearing but there for a reason. Takes a lot of stick from road and moisture. Looked at buying one new from a dealer a few years ago and wasn't readily availabe so decent 2nd hand is way to go. Most of us take them off before they go real bad, be careful as nuts can be solid and easily snap , sand and hammerite before they rust through
Your looking for radiator crossmember

Just removed mine, sprayed bolts with penetrating fluid 24 hrs in advance, reasonably straight forward, removing aircon pipes from bracket attached to it was the most awkward part.

I sourced a good but cosmetically poor used one. Had it powder coated, as good as new now.
