Just changed my discs and pads on my spider ph1 (using mtec black discs (holed and grooved) with apec pads. Couple of things going on.
1) The discs are covered with a black paint which will wear off after a while. But looking at the discs so far (only driven 25 miles) its only the very top of the brakes on both sides that are wearing away (max 1.5cm of the whole disc!!), also the brakes are pap because of this.
2) If I pump the peddle with the engine off it goes rock solid, start the engine and it drops. But if I pump it a little, the pedal doesn't travel as far, rev the engine and the pedal goes down a little further. So at the moment I feel unsafe, because if I use the brakes let go and then put them on straight (ie pumping) the brake bite is in a totally different place. Ive had a few pipes changed, master and slave cylinder too over the last year.
A friend had a look last night and he says it seems fine (but he didn't take it out for a drive) , but I know it isn't. If I slam the brakes I can just about get abs to kick in.
Reference the old discs, lets says they were totally and utterly ruined (bits missing even) you would be shocked, but only on the inside of the discs, I have a feeling the drivers side may be sticking just a little too, it felt seriously hot after only doing a 10 miles, but could this be down to the small amount of brake pad touching the disc??.
I'm having the brakes bled at the weekend to see if this helps, or could it be something else??
Oh on another note can I fit a GTV silicon air hose to a spider?? (just before the body with a breather pipe attached I think) my new rubber one didn't even last 18 months, its perished.

Any help much appreciated, I will try and add photos if it stops raining!!
Just took it out again, if I don't pump the peddle and slam my brakes on I can actually get the peddle nearly all the way to the floor, this was from 70mph it was extremely spongy and gradually slowed me down, if I pump the peddle four times before applying the brake they work well, plus more of the paint is coming off, but the discs were really hot again, as in sizzling
