Lightbulb Some TS exhaust stuff.

Hello forum.

Theres quite a lot of interest in exhausts lately, particularly for the TS it seems - and by happy coincidence im having a bit of an (expensive) dabble at the moment, so thought I would post up some results.

I hope this doesnt seem too rambling!

My exhaust:

Manifold - std
Collector - std
CAT - std
Mini - std
Mid - ragazzon Alfisti mini box
Rear - Biscione 2x70mm with damper

As it currently sounds my exhaust is pretty fuking loud - it screams when pusing on (lovely), but around town its a bit embarassing.

I used to run the ragazzon alfisti with an unsilenced ragazzon 2x70mm rear - and that was just plain silly. Vauxhall Corsa barry boy eat your heart out stuff

Then, for a while, I ran the ragazzon mid-section with a standard (2 box) rear silencer. This produced a really, really nice tone - but of course not loud enough!

Now, im finally doing a switcheroo and mounting a ragazzon straight through MINI, followed by a CSC damped middle section, lining up the 2x70 Biscione rear.

It seems that the mid-section is what takes care of most of the sound reduction, so putting a straight or Alfisti box here really lets the sound out!! Im hoping by adding a silencer back in ill get the scream, but not so much the BOOM at low revs.

Heres some pics:

Biscione 2x70 rear:

New CSC and Ragazzon straight pipe:

It might be a week before I can post any results, as the car is currently away having a CV joint looked at. But in anycase, stay tuned

ps: Never had any CSC products before, but it looks really well made

Really interested in hearing how this sounds as I was at one stage contemplating a pretty similar setup. Regarding the CSC system, my mate had one on his 159 tbi and as you said, it was incredibly well made and sounded even better! So please put up some audio when you get it setup, very interested in a listen.

Thanks for posting euroboy.

Maybe we can collate the opinions of various exhaust configurations in this single thread to help those wanting to choose a system?

Mine consists of:

Manifold - std
Collector - std
CAT - std
Mini - Ragazzon unsilenced
Mid - std
Rear - Biscione 120x70 with single silencer.

At engine start and idle it is very deep and pressing the throttle produces a very nice rasp. The noise isn't too intrusive and sounds very nice when revved up but most of the volume is at idle revs or there about so when doing slow 30mph runs it can get a bit annoying. It actually gets quieter the faster you go. I will try and post a video when I can.

Mine (V6) consists:

Manifold - std
Downpipes - std
CAT - std
Mid - unknown big bore straight-through
Rear - Alfaholics transverse box with small (bean can) final silencer.

Even without the big middle box, it's seems a bit too quiet - and it also has a small resonant phase at about 3000-3500 revs...
