Hi All - been a while since I've posted in the 916 section. Still mourn the sale of my V6. Saw plenty at NAD the other weekend but my 105 GTV2000 project helps soften the loss...
I'm planning on using a modified red leather 916 set of seats I have in my Bertie and whilst dry fitting today have come across a quandary that you might be able to help with....
On 916 front seats, the metal plate that hinges the backs from the bottoms, on the centre console side, ie insides of the seats, by the pretensioner detonators - the metal plate/hinge is obviously riveted to the seat bases.
Can anyone tell me, how is this same plate fixed to the seat backs/uprights? I need to remove this plate/hinge on both drivers and passenger seats and switch them over, removing the spacing bush at the same time - all this for clearance issues (width).
I can see that I need to grind off the riveted pin where the seat base hinge bracket meets the seat back hinge bracket but would like to know just how the seat back hinge bracket is fixed to the seat back before I have to start peeling leather off the seat back..
Hope that makes sense without pictures?
All the best Tom
