Wi-fi has been a bit flakey, so here is the last catch up. After a brilliant time in Florence onwards we drove north towards Turin, we called in at Pisa for the leaning tower and then Lucca, where the top gear guys did a stunt, a small walled town, also just about to have a great music festival with some great acts. After a long drive we arrived at our hotel the NH Lingotto- the old Fiat factory, now a huge complex, we asked if we could go on the roof, the old test track, yes madam she said and promptly gave me the special key which takes you to the 4th floor and on the roof you are, WOW, you can see for miles over Turin, we walked round and up the steep banked sides at the ends, they are seriously banked, no wonder the F1 presenters had trouble getting back into their Fiat 500's. Took some photos took the lift back down and returned the key.
biglaugh: We loaded the car, she has been so fabulous I can't say how much I love my little spider. We drove north through the Itailian Alps, what views, then through a 6 mile tunnel into France. You guys with the 3.0 should get a trip up, the tunnels go on for miles, what a noise you'd all make.
After 450 miles today we are at our last night stop over in Troyes, So far 2300 miles. Head out tomorrow to get back to the Tunnel tomorrow pm. I've taken so many photos, but will post some next week when I've had time to go through them.
