Mine is at the AC specialist now. Both pipes need replacing and the dryer, as well as commissioning and refilling. Cost inc VAT £590. Didn't think that was too bad.
No,not at all,and if it turns into the pig of a job mine was,a veritable bargain
The reason i couldn't get the bolt out was because it was glued to the pipe,the head of the allen bolt sheared off.I had to cut the alloy block off the remains the bolt - and then the bit that was actually screwed into the condenser came out easily grrr. Of course whilst under the car,found a myriad of other jobs than needed doing too
Front disks and pads- looked fine on the outside,but insides were awful condition (not mentioned in may mot) so replaced and refurbed calipers.
Plate below rad has been annoying me for a while,being more rust than metal,so thats been cleaned off and painted,as has the fan housing.Gear oil changed and would have done the engine too,but couldn't get the sump plug out - another 30 minute job that could turn into a day of swearing ,deja vu
