I have done my intro bit and said I would be asking a few questions of all you experienced Alfa owners so here they are.
I have had the beastie (Alfie as she is known in the family) for a full week now and despite all the fun I am having I have noticed a few things that I hope are not big things to fix but who knows.
1. The car has 18" alloys all round with 215/35 tyres on. The ride is very firm as you would expect but I am hearing the odd clunk as I go over SOME lumpy roads or even into a pothole. I am hoping this is purely down to the lack of extra suspension afforded by a higher profile tyre but I am worried about the old Bush (no not George W and Iraq) problem. What are your thoughts. The clunk tends to be more from the rear left and sounds as if it is eminating from the boot (jack is loose in there).
2. The Injection light comes on intermittently. One day she will start and it will go out straight away the next it will go for a few miles before going out. I have put the old Injector cleaner fluid into the fuel (once only) in the hope that it is purely a little dirt or build up on them but it still persists (I have half a tank of adjusted fuel still to use).
3. The clutch pedal has stuck all the way down on 3 occassions but released again when pumped or big toed it back up to release it? It occassionally feels stiffer than normal but normally is really nice and light as I assume it should be.
4. The main red key is missing the black button to operate the central locking and such. Where can I get a new one.
I am positive a few of you will be advising me to go to a garage and have it examined properly and despite not minding a little DIY on cars (they can be frightening at times) I wouldnt mind an experts opinion on it. Where in Wolverhampton would you suggest I take it to keep my costs down to a minimum but also treat her with the respect she deserves.....there are many cowboy outfits near here who will be willing to tell me whats wrong even if it isnt wrong and fix it using the wrong parts and charge me extortionate prices for them.
Thanks in advance for your help and I am still smiling by the way.....
