V6 - short hoses between Plenum Inlet pipes.

Does anyone know where one can get replacements for those short 6 hoses between Plenum and Inlet pipes, original or even custom silicone hoses?

I have some replacement silicone hoses, I did a group buy for the High Power Racing ones a while back and still have a set in stock. They're 95 inc post (about 25 less than ordering direct)

Cheers

Dan

I think new originals are even more expensive, your only other option would be some good second hand ones, I have some of those as well. With them being old & brittle though, its very easy to split them when you push them onto the chrome tubes. The reason for the expense is because they aren't simple silicone sleeves, they are formed on the inside so there are no steps affecting the air flow like you would get if you used plain silicone tube.

Its nice to see more and more stuff getting manufactured by specialists now that Alfa are shamefully withdrawing their support for these not-so-old models.

I couldn't get an intake hose for a 159 2.0 JTDM the other day - on back-order with no ETA, shocking on a 6 year old car.

I was chatting to my neighbours son who is a mechanic the other day about the situation with lack of spares. He said auto manufacturers were supposed to support parts for a minimum of 10 years from the end of production. I know that's probably why there are so many NLA from Alfa on the 916, but on a 6 year old 159, that is

They're a bit clever about it - they don't call it "out of production", they call it "out of stock with no ETA". If they get loads of orders they make another batch but in the meantime they don't bother. They usually jack the price right up at that point too.
