Thumbs Up Spider bouncing locks - solved

Just wanted to share this, as I'd seen no mention of this particular remedy.

Like many owners, I'd had problems with the door not locking, and the buttons refusing to stay down.

I went through all of the good advice on this board but still no go.

I completely removed the lock assembly, and sat tinkering with it for a long time. Eventually, I understood why it wasn't locking.

There is a lever connected via a nylon tie to the key lock. It has a small ball and socket connection. The lever mimics the action of the wire rod that goes up through the door card, with the 'button' on the top. This lever had become bent getting the nylon ball and socket on/off, and was restricted in its movement, fouling on part of the white nylon 'sandwich' between the lock mechanism metal front and back. Having straightened the lever, it didn't foul anymore, and the appropriate amount of travel took place to get the lock to stay locked.

Hope his helps anyone else who has exhausted all the other remedies.
