My 2 penneth - my car sounds very like yours kfp, only another 12k miles on it and unfortunately cat c but I think it's worth hanging on to for those days when the sun is out and I've got to go somewhere with no rush. I think these cars (even mine which is Cat C) wont depreciate any further. There will be the £3-500 snotters around for a short while yet but those with good history, regularly maintained with sympathetic owners will be worth the £2-4k (more for V6 of course) that they should be and in the next 3-5 years (imho), should start to creep northwards. But I think there are better cars out there to invest in at this kind of price point if that's what someone is trying to do...
I just spent £190 on having both seats refurbed. It needs a cambelt change and rear brakes next winter and then I might look at sorting the paint / wheels.
To me, first and formost 80k miles is not a lot, so use it and enjoy! These cars are happiest when driven! Mechanicals / corrosion must be a priority and do the cosmetics second. As my wife says - all gloss and no undercoat never pleases anyone....
