the sun is shining and the roof is down; need a windbreak?
So the sun is shining and those roofs are down. I spotted a tread about a windbreak and that reminded me to put this back up.
You may remember I posted this up some time ago.. But I designed this and had it cut at a friends sign makers. I made the brackets up myself. They are padded on the inside as not to scratch the perspex or the chrome bars.
The logo is etched in to the perspex. So one side is flat and the other has the ridges.
there was some interest back then, but thought I'd let you all know I can still have them made if anyone was interested, now that the sun is out and the tops off!
I'd leave the holes in the perspex for you to drill, so you can choose how high to have the brackets. I would also get you to properly measure between your bars, as I'm sure they all vary a bit. You can also if you wanted change the shape of the top. I personally like the rounded, it matches the hoops.
It makes a huge difference, I took it out the other day whilst I was replacing the middle speaker, and I almost lost the rest of my hair!
As someone mentioned on the last thread and I tried it after, it does actually look better the other way around, so you can read it from the back of the car. The logo is low enough that you don't see it in the mirror, you can hardly see the screen at all, it's great... but occasionally you can just see that ghosting when the light is right, (you know where the flip flop thing of the mirror happens) and its then the right way around. It's really cool, when the lights right, you see a faint ghostly alfa logo. very cool!
Eau Rouge - that's a bit like opening the spoiler debate!
I love the hoops - yes not much value in an accident flip - they are purely cosmetic and I have both hoops & full windbreak. If I didn't have the deflector already, I would consider this - looks nice quality too.
