Well..I am now at the point that I've completely removed all the necessary items.
And I'm not sure if it's possible to get the cambelt out without removing the camshaft pulley.
I bought an electrical impact wrench for around 100euro, Clarke, that was able to remove it easily.
I also came to the conclusion that the job is quite labour intensive :-)..so I wouldn't even bother removing it without the pulley removed. Mine needed a new pulley anyway, as some garage has dented it in the past. The impact wrench will probably be also handy for other jobs.
Furthermore, there's a " cambelt v6 12v removal" thread for a 164s which you can google. I didn't use the template, but decided to remove the camcovers as well. I'm glad I did, because one of the camshafts was gone and it needs a clearance check..
Another must-have is the campulley puller. You can make one yourself with a 3/4inch piping flange.
Cmlocks etc. are not needed as the 12v has markings on both the crankshaft and the camshafts.
My advice: it's quite an intensive job, so I decided to get right tools and do it properly.
