My GTV died on me tonight. I came onto a roundabout should have had plenty of time, but the guy down the road must have floored it when he saw the Alfa so I had to do the same. The wheels burnt rubber I got round the roundabout and then the car just lost power and died.
When I tried to start it the engine fired and ran for a second and then died. I thought the Fuel cut out switch may have tripped, but no. Disconnected the battery in the hope something may reset, but no.
So I called out a friend who picked up my laptop (complete with Alfadiag) and give me a lift. I connected up Alfadiag and it showed no faults.
Ok so by now i've run out of ideas and was about to hitch the car up to my friends when I thought about the MAF.
Somehow I managed to get the connection off and when tried the engine it ran fine and the car drove well.
It would seem I now need a new MAF, but not keen to get another piece of rubbish that may blow just as easy. I've read about the Pierburg replacement MAF.
Is it any good?
Better or worse than the proper MAF?
Where can I get one cheap?
Any real issues running without the MAF connected?
This is not my first electrical problem with this car so maybe I should gut out the Alfa management and put in a aftermarket system
I you may understand I am rather
at my Alfa so help me
