I have receipts with the car showing belts and tensioners being changed in June 2010.
Thing is im not afraid of getting elbow deep into cars, spent many hours fixing cars as an amateur/hobbyist. My current daily driver (Skoda Fabia vRS) needed a head gasket, timing belt, turbo, full suspension refurb and other bits when i bought it.
I want to tackle it myself, ive read guides, i have an Alfa workshop manual (with the car) for doing the cambelt. But im a little bit scared as it is a big job!
If i were to do it myself I think i will need the following tools/parts, if i miss any please could someone say:
Timing belt Kit (Belts tensioners and bearings) £190
Water Pump (Metal Impeller) £72
Water Pump gaskets (small and large) £15
Cam Locks £62
DTI and Extension arm £56
Anything else? I want to collate a complete list of every nut, bolt, seal and so on before i decide whether ill tackle it myself.
