GTV shoogle

Noticing of late that the GTV gives a wee shoogle at the back end evry time she goes over a bump. Bit disconcerting, I have to say.

Had a look at underside and verything appears to be where it should be and nowt "hangin'" off as it were, but also noticed oily patch on driver's side coil spring. Does that suggest a knacked shock, or what?

Re: GTV shoogle

If it's visible down the damper body, yes, otherwise a bit of a mystery.

Re: GTV shoogle

The GTV does that when cornering at speed and you hit a bump or a ridge in the road.

Re: GTV shoogle

There's also a drain that comes out under the body just forward of the spring which is another possible culprit for the cause of the stain.

Re: GTV shoogle

My V6 does this and it has polydooda bushes fitted. I couldn't see nothing loose etc and it passed it's MOT fine. I have put it down to the suspension design....while I burry my head in the sand!
