Spider Wont Start... But did yesterday! Odd dial behaviour
So, after just two weeks out of the garage, my Spider is testing me once again. It started yesterday no problem but when I went to go out in it today, it wouldn't start. The dials on the dash light up as usual with the first turn of the key but I noticed that they exhibit some slight dimming / back to normal brightness fluctuations. Also, more alarmingly, the Rev counter moves to the 1200rpm mark and then starts to bounce up and down of its own accord.
When I turn the key to the start position, there is nothing. Not even the ticking suggesting the battery is flat (as I have had a couple of times before). In case it was the battery I put it on to charge for four hours while I've been and done other bits through the day, but having just wired back up, the result is exactly the same. I have a video of the issue but don't know if / how I can upload...?
The car was used for a week in Jersey up to last Sunday and has sat for a week before I started yesterday just to shuffle cars around. I've not had any problems starting before, other than flat batteries.
So can anyone help? Has anyone experienced this? My first thought was an earth lead somewhere? Can someone confirm where these are (I know where the one is on the gearbox but not any others).
