Re: GTV phase 1 and 2? Confused.
Basically what they all said!
New interior with different seats, dials, centre console, arm rest, new electrics and some ancillary buttons (for mirrors, odometer reset etc moved around). Aircon upgraded to manual climate control. They also made some special edition Ph2 cars with fully colour coded interior (either blue or red).
On the exterior the sills and lower portions of the bumper were colour coded, the grille got a chrome surround and the engine was tweaked. The standard 16" alloys also changed along with little things such as brake pad manufacturer (from Lucas to ???). As far as I know the 2.0V6 turbo was only available as a Ph1.
Easiest way to spot a Ph1 from a Ph2 is the interior as it is very hard/nigh on impossible to change certain parts over, whereas the exterior is very easy to 'bring up to date'.
For the phase 3 there were major exterior changes (a new nose!) along with a change in standard alloys and exhaust back box (from the nice looking chrome oval shape to the crappy round ones).
On the interior the centre console changed subtely again and the seats are also slightly different (more ribbing on the leather I think?)
The 3.0 became the 3.2 and you could order a special high level rear spoiler that wrapped around the back window.
Think that about covers it?
