Annoying rattle (exhaust)!
Hi all, looking for a bit of help!
My Spider has the most bloody annoying rattling noise in the world (coming from the exhaust).
Occurs between 1000-3000 revs and then dissapears as the revs get higher, it happens in all gears and all speeds (in this rev range) and the pitch of the rattle increases as the revs pick up.
Initial thoughts are something loose towards the front of the system - maybe a heat shield or a mount - anyone here with direct experience of such a problem? Ive stuck my head under the car and everything *appears* solid and in good condition.
I had thoughts of a buggered CAT too, but performance hasnt been affected at all.
Oh and another thing it doesnt happen when the engine is cold, only appears after 10mins or so of driving.
If it is the heat shield is it something that Qwik-Fit et al could remedy or is it better to take it to a specialist?
Anyhelp appreciated as the noise is currently drowning out the sound of my Ragazzon!
