I looked at the car.
Lovely stainless exhaust soundtrack.
Solid as anything rust wise....jacking points all solid, no rust to speak of anywhere.
Upgraded suspension -looks like eibach springs, bilstein rear dampers. Solid rear lower arms with powerflex bushes. Braided brake hoses.
All keys and code card, book pack , service history and a literal wad of past reciepts, 3 previous owners, GTV number plate.
Needs cambelt service
Original clutch...105,000 miles -getting a bit heavy.
Oil cooler weeping....oil not running out, but will need doing....
Bodywork and wheels...hmm, accumulation of scuff, scratches and small dings - equals a bit scruffy. Nothing really bad, but lots of small things...
Interior...solid but well used...ditto.
So, dilemma is - could get cambelt and oil cooler done...then possibly clutch/diff.
This will give me a solid and sorted GTV....but still a scruffy one.
OK if I just wanted to use it well and keep it, but I really want to sell it on....and a scruffy GTV is what I'll have -even after doing all those jobs....
