Re: GTV sump drain plug (2.0TS)
Is there a confusion here between engine sump plug, gearbox oil level plug and gearbox drain plug?
Engine oil sump plug is to the rear of the engine, torque it to 17 to 21 Nm or 1.7 to 2.1 kgm. Gearbox drain is low down and at the end of the gearbox near to the earth braid and driveshaft; torque to 30 to 48 Nm. Filler plug is same torque settings and is found next to the reversing light switch which needs to be disconnected and removed if you're going to check the level. Maintenance schedule only lists level checks for gearbox oil at every 50 000 miles.
If the engine sump plug isn't leaking it may look undisturbed.
