Alfa gtv 2,0 TS immobilised
Hello Alfa fans!
Im a first time alfa owner and i have a major problem with this 2002 GTV 2.0 twin spark i purchased.
when we bought the car it was running fine then the alternator gave in and we replaced the battery, what happend is that the immobiliser activated and the car does not want to start. but it will crank and will supply fuel but no spark. i;ve have this problem form over 6 months now.
i tried to buy a surplus ecu and keys and ews set but this also did not seem to work when we replaced them.
now i have an alfa basic diagnostic OBD 2 scanner that i want to use to see if the fault reads ECU and not something else like the sensors etc.
1. i cant locate the obd2 plug! its driving me crazy. i looked under the steering column, removed the panels and could not find a plug. i went through the passenger side and could not find it either. i went through the central tunnel and nothing as well. Why does alfa have to make it so complicated.
2. i am already willing to Use a stand alone ECU to override the problem but first of all i want to make sure its the ECU that even the problem,,,
can you guys give me a hand before i give up on collecting italians? i have another alfa on its way.. its the graduate classic spyder. i hope thats easier than this GTV. i also have a 155 that in for a major engine overhaul... want to turn it in to DTM... but this gtv is turning me off on alfa ownership
thank you in advance!!
