Sad how people get offended when you just disagree on something like a car's value.
Yes, I'm driving a Mazda, as every single Alfa I looked at after I had my 156 written off was a pile of garbage and I needed something quickly - and something that would not suck any more money from my wallet over the winter. Box ticked, and now looking for a proper car again. I've been keeping an eye on Autotrader/ebay/gumtree/various forums so I'm fully aware of the average prices GTVs are fetching and how much (or little) work they may need on top of the purchase price.
As I said, there *are* good cheap ones out there. I've come damn close to buying two so far but held off each time purely down to colour (dammit I want a red one). Automatically writing them ALL off as needing thousands spent doesn't fit the market as it is now.
And yes, most of the good ones are TS rather than V6 - nicer handling by all accounts (and having tried two examples of each I did prefer the TS ones to the V6s, soundtrack ignored, and the TS ones were much much more looked after than the V6s I've tried. V6 bills biting in later life I'm guessing? Anyway good luck selling yours, certainly looks/sounds like a nice example but a good grand above what I would personally drop on even the nicest GTV.
