Poor ride, poor front suspension
This will be no surprise to anyone, but lets face it the front suss on the GTV is abysmal. The ride is appalling, crashy, potholes feel like they will break the car in half. Bottoming out happens all too easily on fast but uneven roads. Uneven surfaces upset the car way more than they should.
Mine has Bilstein shocks all round which improve these things a bit, but I would like to go further as this is the one area of my car where I wish it had more modern attributes.
I have noticed that the v6 156 does not have these problems to the same extent that the GTV does. I am guessing also (though I havent driven one) that the 147 is the same.
So the question is, what do the 156 / 147 have in the front set up that the GTV doesnt have? And, as they are (allegedly) basically the same chassis, can I change my GTV to have a 156 front suspension setup?
Or am I competely wrong and are the 156/147 and GTV the same under the skin, re he front suspension?
