Use 10W40 for the T/Spark unless you don't live in the UK.
Selenia is semi synthetic and has an API rating around S/M and that's going to be the same as Magnatec, so it's whatever brand you prefer basically..
Don't bother flushing your engine, as 44k is nothing, given you have a pukka oil change history already.
Don't bother with fully synthetic unless you change your oil at the full 12k change intervals. A good semi-synth like Selenia and Magnatec will be fine to 12k.. even better if you change it at half time.
Can't comment on your Vauxhall.. it could be that whatever it had in it before you put in Magnatec was well-shagged or just too thin (e.g. 0W30 ). New oil always makes a motor quieter and if it's rings were knacked, the new (thicker) oil would have a beneficial effect as it would help the rings seal (more compression = more bhp).
