polished alloys

I have a 96 GTV with standard 16" alloys, as money is tigh I wanted to see if anybody taken on the task of polishing these to a high bling gleam, or is this a fruitlass task that will result in ultimate failure and some shagged alloys, (or maybe i have been watching to many Wheeler dealer programmes) assistance would be grateful??

Re: polished alloys

No, but I've got a set of them sitting here for when you get bored half way through the first one and want to replace it

I can imagine it being awesomely hard work to strip and polish them up yourself. I'd probably be inclined to have them refurbed and/or painted in high gloss silver instead. Trouble is that once you've done that you might as well have bought new 17" wheels and brought yourself into the cheaper tyres bracket.
