Re: GTV Died And Now A Non Starter (HEEEELLLLP!)
It's an electrical problem so you need to get your diagnostic kit out.
1) Check that when you crank the engine fuel arrives at the fuel rail.
>> If it does then the fuel pump / relays / fuses are okay.
>> If it does NOT then the fuel pump / relays / fuses could be knacked. Check the relay, fuses and the fuel shutoff jobbie under the passenger seat (press down the button). Listen for the fuel pump.. you may have to shove your head next to it while someone cranks the motor..
2) Check that the coils have power and that the spark plugs "fire" when you turn the engine over. (take a cap off and put a spare plug in it, resting it on the (metal) cases, so it's earthed).
>> If the coil pack is live but the plugs don't spark then it's likely to be a TDC sensor fault.
>> If the coil pack is "dead" then that there's the problem
3) Are the injectors working? Take an injector out and test that the circuit pulses on/off when the engine's turning over.
>> If it's "dead" then that might be the TDC sensor. TDC lives down by the crank.. he could be dead but a new one is about a ton of notes, so don't just rush out and buy one unless you narrowed down all the other options.
No bullets for Chaingun..
