I had the same issue with mine stuttering around the 4000/4500 rpm mark before continuing to accelerate, Turned out to be the cat which had started to crumble and break up. Had that removed and a decat pipe put in place and no further issues.
Hmm, I completely forgot about that, I'll have a check on the weekend, hope it's that. Injectors here are sacred. Thank you for the input
I appreciate it
The original cambelt interval was 5 years/115'000km, but Alfa reduced the interval as there were lots of belts breaking. I believe the main cause was bearing failure rather than the belt itself, so uprated rollers were fitted....I suppose in theory if its had all the new parts fitted, it should be fine....I bought a 145 which hadn't had a new belt for over 90'000km and it all still looked fine....however personally I always get the belts/rollers etc changed every 3 years, although I only do maybe 32'000km in that time, plus a new waterpump every 115'000km.
I'm definitely going to change it, better to be safe, I don't believe a single damn thing the previous owner said.
The lack of information in the service book also troubles me. It's not expensive I mean 100 euros for a complete kit is actually good.
Man that thread about the fuel gauge, lots of steps. I'm only driving this car til Friday (I have the test plates on for 7 days) then it's going in the garage and it's not going out until every nut is shining.
I plan to take the entire interior out and clean it properly, easier then cleaning it while it's bolted inside, perfect opportunity to fix the fuel gauge.
Thanks for the input
Everyone here is so helpful thanks everyone.
JUST one more thing to ask before I forget, the bodywork isn't too bad I mean some scratches here and there, the driver door has a dent etc.
I'm thinking about giving the car a respray, I love this color but I've been also thinking about painting it in Pearl White, either the complete car in pearl white or pearl white with a black roof.
Opinions? I haven't decided yet and I'm not sure if it will ruin the car. The last thing I want is to make a clown GTV. I even have 18'' wheels in my garage but I've decided not to put them on as I want to keep the original 16''s on it
