Cheers gary - hoped it wouldn't be to expensive. Pending house move so attempting to spend peanuts - well actually absolutely nothing!!
Might be worth a trip to Mango's in the morning. Although seems to be about a grand for any work they do hmmm
Climate control compressor oil for all except 916S1 (which takes 240 +/- 15 cm cubed) 290+/- 30cm cubed.
Fluid 0.650 kg + 0.05 kg ( additional amount to be computed considering the fluid which remains in the recharge device lines).
160 +/- 20 in compressor, 130 +/- 10 in drier filter.
I have seen those can's in halfords for sale, note that some do also contain the oil needed.
I'm not being funny to all you air con guy's out there but unless a system needs a full going over how difficult can it be just to top up the system? especially when you have a gauge on the can, I understand that over filling is also not good?
by the way the gas does seem to lose it's effectiveness over a couple of years, even if there are no leaks.
I'm not sure where abouts in the engine bay the refill point is on the
v6 but it should have a screw on dust cap just like a tyre valve.
I think you will find two valves, one at the other end of the circuit for draining, I doubt if that needs to be done if your system is in good condition & just needs a top up.
