Help please! I've searched the threads for something similar, can't find anything that quite fits the bill.
When I accelerate in any gear beyond 4k, particularly under hard acceleration, I get a loud metallic whine, whether on a corner or straight.
I had what sounded like a cv joint going recently, but that stopped the same day it started, and a thread on here suggested it could sometimes be a temporary 'Alfa quirk', and the car has not pulled to one side or made any other unusual noises.
I've never had the often talked about V6 torque steer, and wondered if there's a chance I have an LSD, which is making a tortured attempt to funnel all the power through one axle, when I didn't think the cv joint had gone after all.
If not, can anyone suggest other possibilities?
Needless to say, I'm avoiding hard acceleration and using it as little as possible.
