Assuming this is the end casing you are referring to, it's easy enough to remove.
Jack up the car and once the car is on an axle stand, remove the near side front wheel. You can then remove part of the arch liner with the removal of a couple of screws. You will then see the end casing (no. 2 on the diagram).
I believe it's then six bolts to undo - have a drip tray ready as a few ml of gearbox oil will inevitably leak out... Clean off the end casing and then I would just use some gasket sealet on both the end case and the gearbox side. Let them cure for maybe 20 minutes and then mate them back together. Make sure you leave sufficient time for it to fully dry before running the car (a mistake I've makde before!!)
You can of course use a proper gasket if you like.
