GTV rear seat removal

Hi there, I just wondered if anyone had removed the rear seats in the back. I have a phase 1 and am looking to save unnecessary weight. Would removing these upset the handling at all and if not how easy are they to remove.
I think they are a bit of a waste.

Very easy to remove:
undo 2 x bolts under the bench. Pull the 2 brackets out and up (youll know what Im talking about when you see them). Lift the bench assembly out and remove (both rear seats are one piece). This exposes the bolts retaining the seat back. Undo them and the seatback assemble will lift out.
The headrests are a bit fiddly as the retaining bolts are accessed from the boot underneath the parcel shelf. However the whole job shouldnt take more than 15-20 mins.
Once you remove theat bench & back youll realize how light they are, and I really cant see how removing them will make a significant difference to handling
