Okay, I'm here again with a long long update after a long long time.. I'm writing these things even if it seems like no one can help, but maybe I can help someone else with these..
and also as the diary of the Cup maybe
So in the last few months I did a few things to my beloved Cup.
I have repaired my front cup splitter which was heavily damaged by the previous owner and repaired with tons of putty and filler, painted badly.. I made it look like the original, sanded it for days, repaired with fiberglass, and had my whole front bumper painted professionally. Also took care of the inner plastic pieces in the bumper, painted, repaired them..
I also did my second oil change (first one was just for cleaning out the junk so it was just a 800-1000km oil) and put in some nice Selenia AR20k 10w40 with an oem oil filter and a nice little oil drain valve (QwikValve) for easy oil changes in the future..
As my lower water hose was leaking somewhere and had a terrible looking heat guard, I took that out too. I didn't find the leak when I pressure tested it, so I assume it was the connection on the engine side. I wanted to do a small mod too, so I made myself a coolant drain screw
I installed it in the hose, and after that I installed the hose itself with some black Loctite sealant on the connections. It never leaked since.
For the heat guard I copied the original thing on a piece of real leather and I applied a layer of aluminium tape on the inner side. Press buttons just like the original and It was perfect! (I can add pictures of this and all the stuff if anyone is interested!
I wanted to sort out my hesitating throttle too, so I got out my previously repaired intake hose and did it again and much better. The hesitation when dropping revs is not an issue anymore, so an air leak caused that..
The car runs well, it's powerful, amazing and beautiful
.. but I've got a few small things to sort out... First one is: When starting cold, the engine sometimes almost stalls. I usually don't catch it with throttle, it's not stalling, but almost. I don't know what can be the problem. 2 months ago I randomly checked the ecu for codes, as there was no light on, but I've found codes P0300 - Misfires detected (generic) and P0303 - Cylinder 3 ignition failures. It said the light should be on but it wasn't. I cleared them and I've never seen them since then.
A few days ago I got out my coil packs, cleaned them with contact cleaner, checked the plug tops.. I also changed the cyl. 3 coil pack with cyl. 1 so if the codes come up again and it's cyl. 1, I can think about a faulty coil pack... I got the injector rail out too, injectors are fine and they don't seem leaking.. I cleaned their contacts too.
What I discovered was a bit of oil here and there around the valve cover but not a big deal, I'll be changing that because I have a torn screw and it's leaking with a brand new gasket so it must be deformed or something.
The other thing was the small hose that goes from the valve cover to the inlet manifold behind the throttle body. It has got some small cracks in it and it was also oily, so I might change that for something better? Maybe silicone, or something not so soft and delicate as it is now?
So my questions to you guys: What can cause the almost stalling issue? Maybe my MAF is not good even if I measured it(posted before)? Is it the valve behind that small hose? What else can cause this? I think it's not fuel pump related because I did a few ign. on-offs before starting and it does the same. It's not happening when the engine is warmer, even if just a little...
Thanks for reading my post and hopefully helping me.
