The outer bushes on the spring pans (PFR1-714) are supposed to have a shim either side in the hub casting, I can get one shim in but again it would appear a physical impossibility to get another shim in there. It does appear that the top hat bushes are about 1.5 - 2mm longer than the metal sleeve. Can anyone give me a technique to fit these that doesn't involve trimming the bush (finaw, finaw). I have seen a few threads where people have said they are really tight, but no-one has said HOW they got them in![/QUOTE]
stick the whole spring pan top hat assembly, minus the inner sleeve, end in a vice and squeeze the living daylights out of it.
Some specialists give them a squeeze on the press.
If the washers are still tight to push in, file a sharpish leading edge on about 30 degrees of the circumference. gives you a start and then tap it in. use your bullet hole finder to line it all up.
Gettin' to old for this sh*t
