Hi pkr, thanks for getting back and i missed your post until now. I went to see my local Alfa specialist today and he had a black 147GTA, black 156GTA, black 155 Wide body and a GT etc, etc.
It was lunch time and a glorious day so i bought him a cup of coffee and we talked Alfa,s for 2hrs while he tried to sell me the 32k black 147GTA for 7k and i was only offering 5k. Anyways, Davey has been a Fiat/Alfa mechanic since the 90's and a gentleman and he said........
This needing Examiner to purge abs pump is in his opinion ........wait for it ...........nonsense, he has never had to perform this task. In his opinion it is the way people are bleeding where problem lies. Wind handbrake off until its doing nothing, pump pedal having retracted caliper piston. Bleed with new handbrake and ensure pads have centred and matted to disc before doing handbrake last.
PS: Follow the correct bleed sequence as outlined in the manual too.
