Heheh! Looks like i've managed to incite a bit of a flame war here! I shan't be owning a Brera. Lovely cars. Fantastic looking things, but I want something with an Arese V6 in and the shape of the GTV just appeals more to me. I've heard the Brera carries even more heft, so, again, that counts against it for me, as I'm already a little concerned about the GTV carrying a few extra pounds.
Thanks for the comparisons, they are appreciated, but there's no hope of me owning anything of a spider configuration ever again. I hate convertible roofs. The only possible exception to this would be an elise, but that's a different kettle of fish entirely, and would live with a hard-top on all year round...
Everything I've read has pointed to a strong need to get one with a Q2 diff fitted, and even then I think I'm going to have to be prepared to do a little upgrading of the suspension, if that is, I'm comfortable with the car. It's all pointing to a test drive, I know.
Practicality, fortunately isn't an issue. I get the train to work each day, I have no kids and the car gets dusted off in the weekend/middle of the night to go for a blast then gets tucked up again for the remainder. It will be used over winter though - should I be concerned about rusting issues?
Coupled with that, I'm not too sure how easy these things are to sell - I've seen up for a few months. I don't want something that's a huge pain to get rid of, as this Boxster is proving to be. I'm already taking a 25-30% hit on that for 12 months of ownership.
Price wise, what am I going to be spending for something with a Q2 diff and exhaust? I'd certainly prefer something in red with a light coloured interior, but I realise I'd definitely have to wait around for something like that to come along.
