Re: The Brown Key
They can't be easily replaced to my knowledge, and there are about 3 options I can think of.
1. Do nothing- the worst probably won't happen. I have never had to use the brown key in 8 years.
2. Keep an eye out for an ECU, keys, barrel and code box on eBay. They seem to go for about £50 - 100. When you have it put it to one side in case the worst happens.
3. Get Alfa to sort it out. Understood to cost £800+
4. Send the ECU and code box off to a specialist for recoding to a new brown key- understood to cost £200.
The car sounds like good value apart from the key thing. Getting a car with a knackered exhaust is more financially crippling if you look at it logically IMO
