3.0 GTV Clutch pedal vibration.
I have a problem with my wife's 1999 3.0 GTV. She took it out but came back home 5 minutes later.
She says there were no problems the last time she used the car. It was then left standing for about a week. She says she didn't notice anything wrong when she started it. She reversed out of the driveway, pulled onto the road and then started to gently move through the gears (she NEVER thrashes it).
She noticed a bad vibration coming up through the clutch pedal so turned it around and came home.
I have just had a quick look at the car. The vibration is apparent when the car is stationary so it isn't driveshaft related. The intensity of the vibration increases with the engine revs.
Depressing the clutch pedal down to the floor completely stops the vibration. There is no noise when the clutch pedal is operated and no smell.
I just took the car for a short test drive. The clutch works fine, the engine is fine. There is no evidence of clutch judder or slip and still no smell. The vibration is apparent when the car is moving or stopped and when in gear or in neutral.
Depressing the clutch pedal completely eliminates the vibration.
Any ideas please guys?
