Just bought a 97 Spider :)
Having spent a couple of years driving a Fiat Coupe, I've just taken the plunge and bought myself a Spider. (2.0 litre, TS, Manual Hood).
I've spent the day getting her scrubbed up and sorting out a few minor issues, but there are a couple of things that I think I need more experienced advice on:
1. Headlamp bulb. I picked up a replacement for a blown bulb from Halfrauds, and merrily started changing it. I removed the black plastic covering running over the top of the wheel arch. I removed the plug from the bottom of the bulb. All was looking good. The owners manual then says to turn the bulb unit anticlockwise in it's housing. No joy. The bulb appears to be stuck fast in it's housing.
Getting a pair of pliers on the job hasn't helped, as the plastic casing attached to the bulb has now cracked, leaving the main filament part stuck inside the lamp unit and very little left to pull at from the outside. Has anyone else had this problem, and how did you address it?
2. Hood. I've noticed a couple of times that at the back, on the drivers side, the bolt on the hood that latches into the metal hood housing cover seems to pop out of place.
Is this an easy fix/adjustment, or am I likely to need professional help?
Edit: Think this list may get longer and longer:
3. Coolant Temperature: On the Spider I bought, and on all the ones I test drove in the last week, the coolant temperature when driving at about 3000 rpm seemed to be around 55 - 60 degrees. These seems quite low. Is this normal, or does it sounds like I ought to get the thermostat adjusted?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give !
