Making the driver's side wiper work properly.
One thing that really ticks me off with the spider is the pathetic wipers. I've changed the driver's side arm completely and after a short time it's back to doing what it did before ie not clearing the screen slap bang in front of me properly. I've changed the blade again. Still the same. It's useless and dangerous as I cannot see properly due to it missing a crucial part of the screen.
You can see by looking at the way the wiper blade sits on the screen the wiper arm is basically too weak/wrong shape to do a good job. I've never had a car with such awful wipers.
Is there another wiper arm off anything else on the planet that will bolt on and make a proper attempt to clean the screen? Or is there another blade fitment that can be put instead of the standard one. I don't care if it means butchering the arm. I just want wipers that work.
Has anyone tried the Piaa curved blades or anyone's flat blades?
I really thought I had fixed it with the wiper arm change so I wasn't expecting it to become so useless so quickly. I changed the arm either last winter or the one before so there is no reason the arm should have failed. Wiper arms shouldn't be consumables!
