Hmmm Spider Wiper Motor

Just wondered what other alfas the spider shares the wiper motor with? I'm after a replacement for my '97 Spider but they seem pretty rare second hand. There are lots of 146 motors around but I just wanna check what will fit...

Re: Spider Wiper Motor

Have you thought about having the motor repaired, could work out cheaper?

Re: Spider Wiper Motor

Blakie is having wiper woes at the moment. Look for his thread. All I know from looking so far is that there is a control device within the motor and some other control device in the dash. Think this one may control the intermittent wipe part.

Re: Spider Wiper Motor

Extremike, PM me with your email address and I'll send you the extract from the official manual. But I have to warn you that the motor is a bit of a pig to get on and off.

I just received a CD today with all the technical details about the GTV, the whole nine yards, from someone trading on that well known auction site. If you haven't got a copy, get one, it was £1.99 + p&p and it'll save you thousands.

Typical that I want to fault find the wipers again, now I have the info, and it's p*ssing down outside.

Re: Spider Wiper Motor

Only shared with the GTV afaik. We had problems....bought one for £60 from a scrappers.

That started playing up and managed to buy a "new" one on ebay for a little more...well pleased

No-one round here would even contemplate repairing our motor...so a scrapper might be your best option, they're about £400 new!!!!
