As i mentioned in my mail, your car would have been slowly restored to 'better than new' with much affection lavished continuously..
Clive, let me know if you are feeling generous, failing that, Mister B, my other offer stands any time, particularly the next 12 mths
This car doesn't need restoring just a good clean & a few minor jobs: down pipes, pas leak, rear discs etc....nothing expensive.
It's worth what I paid without the expensive modifications, this black GTV sold for similar money & that didn't have any of them: http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-...-for-sale.html
I've just sold a GTV for well over £5k which had all the same modifications + Konis & Eibachs but not the expensive 330 brakes, approx the same mileage as well but not a full history & more owners but still a lovely car: http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-...s-etc-etc.html
I wasn't looking to buy anymore GTVs at the moment but this one came to my attention due to this thread: http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-...-flea-bay.html
Not only was Mr Bumble's advert endearing but the value of the extras, apparent good condition, + I'd previously sold the car to it's former owner in July 2010, made me interested in owning it again. A lot can happen to a car in 4 years but fortunately it's all been good to this one.....including approx £4k worth of upgrades, a cambelt & services.
Bargains do come along occasionally but you can't always expect to find one when you want one.
I've only had a short time on it today but just take a look at the pictures below & see what difference half an hour spent on the engine bay makes. Overall cosmetically this car is very good, mechanically even better.
I'm currently undecided whether to fully prepare it as it is or to swap the engine, gearbox & brakes onto another GTV & then sell it as a more standard example...it would still easily achieve £3k+.
I think you might have to up your budget for the high spec car that you're looking for, either that or beat the likes of me(& others) to the next one IF
another one comes along....sorry.
