New wheels and springs - any thoughts ?

The 16'' teardrop wheels on my 3.0L GTV are looking very tired and also need a couple of tires.

I have decided to take the plunge and buy a set of 17'' Wolfrace Turismo wheels (Width 7.5J with 40 offset) and 225/45 tires. The website (Wheelbase) says that they will fit my Alfa.

Also replace the discs which are rusty and a new set of springs which are 20mm lower.

This is my first venture into upgrading wheels and springs, can anyone see any potentional pitfalls ?

Any recommendations for discs and springs. There seem to be many aftermarket options available.

Any advice gratefully received.
Many Thanks

ET40 will sit very far inside the arch, especially on the rear.

My rears are ET18, and sit beautifully. They will fit and they will work, but will need spacers on the rear to 'fill' the arch.

Are the wheels you thinking of ones with just five bolt holes, or are they multi fit ones with ten bolt holes? If they are the latter I would suggest that they are not very nice looking, if they have just five bolt holes, they will look quite nice with the spacers as euro boy suggests.
