Personally I don't know why you would bother. It would be cheaper just to buy a V6 GTV unless your mate is good (genuinely good) with tools and has the time and money to put into it. If it was me I would just put a TS into it and use the money saved on having to change all the electrics, gearbox etc. on some weight reduction, strut brace, new discs/pads/hoses, getting the head ported and polished, suspension upgrade as well maybe?
All in all I would say that would be a far better investment and probably just as quick as the V6 around the track as the TS does handle a lot better, especially under hard braking and through the corners.
