Hi guys well my project is very close to its mot, done a lot of work to her and had a little reward today being able to take her out for her first run. Although i couldn't put my foot down
as the brakes are shocking! my vision of a blast down the country lanes were hampered because it felt like i had no brakes and i was scared i would crash her lol!
so after some advice as the next job is to sort them.
My v6 has been sat for 3 years, 2 years before i got her and a year with me sorting her out. It had new disc n pads 6 months before she way layed up so the pads are nice and thick but the discs are covered in rust so i think these will need replacing.
When you put your foot on the brakes its very spongy and travels right down to the floor before it kicks in, so im going to change the brake fluid hopefully this will help.
is there a guide on the forum for bleeding the v6 brakes or any tips or advise would be much appreciated
bled the spider ts breaks and the mrs bmw x5 without any problems but the brembo's look more complicated?
any thing else i should do to the brakes with her being sat for so long
