So this is my first car ever and for the past 2 weeks ive been doing a little interior renovation, new carpet, reapolstering roof, a,b,c pillar, parcel shelf, new hazard button, new knob, new gear handle, redying the seats, new rear seats, new wing mirrors, new wing mirror seals.
But what i did not expect was a wet floor. carpet was dry so i took it out to replace it but the sound deadening was not dry at all. it was dry at the rear foot well but the closer you got the more most and eventually wet when you got to the pedals.

First picture: sound deadening is just a little wet = surface rust
Second picture: = even more wet then under the drivers side footwell
Third picture = the holes was not there, i poked through them it was so moist it just fell through, the coating can be pealed off at this point.
Passenger side is totally dry (Right hand side). The further you go inwards towards the pedals (Left handed side/Drivers side) the more wet it gets.
Plan of action ?
1: Get new sound deadening? or just dry it off?
2: Sand down everything and coat it with zink or galvanizing primer. then what do i do?
3: Find the source of this leak: does this thread apply to the GTV? http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-...s-carpets.html
if not, anyone got any suggestion where i need to start? I found the cables on the left side of the left side of the car to be wet as well. the further you go towards the mid console the dryer it got.
4: what do i do with the holes in the floor pan? they where not there in the first place as i poked through it since it was so moist.
