Out at the weekend , as normal always park away from any other cars to help prevent idiot drivers flinging their car doors in to mine , reversing into a space and go back a little to far and hit the high kerb putting a nice scuff mark on the bumper - Doh!
I stew about this all over the weekend thinking the car now looks tatty from the rear so when I get home I have an idea about polishing it with some T-Cut and blow me it worked great so spent the next couple of hours polishing this and a scuff on my front bumper , all this still in my suit while it drizzling , it was very rewarding see these big marks slowly fade away .
Trouble is T Cut is quite aggressive and does put fine scratches in. You'll need to refine with a lighter polish like Auto Glym Super Resin to get rid of the T Cut marks.
I like T cut as well but you need to be careful with it.
The stuff in the lighter red bottle is meant for cellulose based paints, and is too agressive to use on modern two pack or water based finishes.
The metallic version in the dark red bottle is the one you want as it is far less abrasive and doesn't add small scratches unless the paint you are applying it to is very soft.
Meguire's ultimate compound is good - bit like t-cut but much much finer. It leaves what I would consider to be a finished finish but does take a fair bit longer to cut through scuffs. I'm safer using this, being cack-handed....
T-cut in moderation is good but shouldn't be used regularly.
