Help Emergency start - code input.

I've been having some problems with the immobiliser lately, and whilst ive managed to get the car started every time so far, there may come a time I need to use the code starting procedure.

My car is originally from Denmark - hence a manual that I cant read! I do have the electronic/mechanical code but I have no idea how to input these beyond the fact that you use the accelerator.

Could somebody with a UK manual please tell me the exact procedure, or at least point me to a thread which details it (I did a search but nowt much comes up).

I think you have to tap morse code on the
accelerator or something.

Re: Emergency start - code input.

Morse code is right , goes something like this (from the manual for my 156)

Have the code in front of you

Turn the key to MAR
Fully depress the accelerator and keep it pressed, the engine control warning light will come on for approx 8 seconds then go out, release the accelerator.

the engine control light will begin to flash, after it has flashed the number of times of the first digit fully depress the accelerator and keep it there till the engine control light comes on for 4 seconds and then goes out. release the pedal.

It will begin to flash again, this time for the second digit, do the same when it has flashed the appropriate number of times. Repeat for all 5 digits.

After the light has gone out for the last digit and you have released the pedal the light should come on for another 4 secs, this is to confirm all is OK and the code has been accepted. Start the car.

If the light stays on, it hasn't worked and you will need to start from scratch, and every time the engine is started you will need to do the same.

Hope you don't need that bud! Lets just hope it's having a "moment"

We have no plan, therefore nothing can go wrong (much)

And i Have finally put piccies of the silver one on!!

It is a laborious procedure, so hopefully you never have to use it. Could it be the aerial for the code reader is coming loose from round the ignition barrel? that seems to happen a lot.

That seemed about right except that having carried out the procedure, the key must be turned directly from MAR to AVV without turning it to STOP otherwise you have to start all over again.
