Haven't had a chance to drive the GTV properly for ages. Today was better. thought I'd head to this classic car thing in storrington (off the chain but that's how I roll).
Knew there were some great roads on the way but was expecting high density of bimblers all the way. But no!
The warm Tarmac started opening up on the 272. locals will know it's an ace road but there's always the bimblers... Couple of cars in front but i see a shimmering stretch of straight, undulating Tarmac, beckoning before me. So I drop the ***** into third and floor it. She's screaming up to the rev limiter, snick into fourth and we're moving. These cars are unbelievable for the money. I keep her nice and tight so she's driving beautifully and that alfaholics stainless exhaust is fackingg glorious. and with that sun today that deep black shine was lookin good. and the roads were quiet! and it didn't take long to realise loads of other people were just out for a thrash. I kid you not: pulling up to the coolham (ham is pretty cool spose) crossroads, chap turned up my way in a pagani zonda. Now that made quite a special sound as he floored it. Just brutal. I desire it. then some new Ferrari, California i think comes snarling and bellowing up to the corner, points it my way and boots it up the road after the zonda. if he was chasing anything else he would definitely have caught it. With large grin I take my turn and find myself behind a grey Ferrari which I found out late was a f12. hadn't even. Noticed him with those other two butters. This driver was a little more senior so he let me stay on his tail as I was a bit more confident which way the road was going but the little bursts of straight line acceleration he did were quite impressive. Would have liked to swap for a little bit.
Smiles per pound I know who won. Nice one alfa heads!
