Anyone got a spare clutch pedal rubber or know of a place in Kent to get one? Other than the Alfa dealership please.
As you can see, I did originally try to help the OP source a pedal rubber, stupidly not realising that he wanted a really cheap &/or second hand one.
What's wrong with Alfa dealers?
There were some new ones on Ebay recently.
I wonder. I have just replaced the rear spring pans on the Spider, instead of selling my daughter to buy two new ones at an eye watering £270 (or so) a piece I paid £132 for a secondhand pair from an Alfa specialist breaker. I also bought Poly bushes for somewhat less than the price of OEM.
I paid another £4 for paint.
: Your example above is a totally sensible & valid saving, one which I've done on numerous occasions for exactly the same reason....to save money
I'm all for saving money & often buy second hand parts, most new parts from factors/specialists & have most of my servicing etc done by our excellent local indie Mark at AlfaLusso(formerly West Sussex Alfa). On numerous occasions in threads on here I've recommended others to buy parts from Auto Lusso & Alfashop but certain parts are main dealer only. I certainly could not afford to buy everything + servicing etc from the main dealers. I spend a lot of my time sourcing parts, for all makes of cars, at sensible prices but sometimes the main agents' new price is not much more, & has on occasions been lower, than Ebay's used!!
BUT this thread's title is 'Trying to source a missing clutch pedal rubber
' which would indicate to me that the OP was having trouble obtaining/finding one. Well he obviously hadn't tried very hard as a quick phone call(to a dealer) &/or googled it would've found him some. But no he wanted a cheap, maybe second hand, one when new they're only just over a fiver! He probably spent that in petrol driving to get his free one. It also sends a message out to others that parts are hard to get for the 916....which most are not, even for a newbie.
Had the thread's title been: Wanted used cheap clutch pedal rubber
I wouldn't have bothered to even read it....which I wish I hadn't now.
Even a search in this forum would've found this: http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-...al-rubber.html
