Alfa died in Germany. Now back in London and needs help!
I feel a bit like a dork as I done everything I could think of (and spent little fortune in the process) for nothing to happen and yet the worst happened anyway. Two or so weeks ago somewhere near Hannover my engine died due to, Im guessing, oil leak. I suppose it needs a new engine.
Car had full service a month prior to the journey and oil was topped up 3 days before as well. I know these cars take a lot of oil but its not the first 2.0 TS I have and something like that never happened to me before. I dont know if I had a smashed samp or what. ZeGermans didnt really gave me any detailed info apart from deeming it uneconomical to repair and washed their hands off.
Car is back in London and I am looking for a 'friendly' garage or someone who will firstly asses if thats what I think it is (dead engine) and check if there is maybe something else that died in the process and than help source an engine (thats pretty much the easiest part as there is a number of them out there) and, most importantly - fit it and get the car back on the road.
My engine had circa 95K miles on the clock, new spark plugs, filters, alternator and a timing kit only about 10K miles old. Therefore I am interested in sub 100K miles engines and/or moving the bits I just mentioned from mine to the 'new' one.
Car is in London, SE16, Surrey Quays. I can probably arrange delivery within reasonable distance (M25 ish preffered).
Ask me anything you need.
